Our adventuring son recently had an evening’s stay at the Grand Daddy Hotel in their airstream trailer park, on the roof. Quite an amazing concept.
Quite unbeknown to us, he took it upon himself to take a bottle of 2009 Sauvignon Blanc, a bottle of 2009 Merlot Rose as well as a bottle of the yet unreleased Taigh Merlot 2006 with him, and passed it onto management for a taste.
These kids do the naughtiest things at times.
So today, when the twitter feed came through (you are following us on twitter right?) about some pictures of the management of the Grand Daddy Hotel quaffing on our wines, we were amazed, and impressed.
Even more impressive were the actual tweets, which you can catch on their twitter account, which is found here. The staff really seemed to be enjoying the wine, as witnessed in the empty bottles.
We are so happy that they enjoyed the wines, and hope to see more of the wines now that we are opening up distribution a little in 2010 to include a few restaurants and hotels in the Western Cape.
Enjoy.

Recently I got an email from some loyal customers of ours to tell me that they had gone all the way to Canada (Whistler to be exact on the matter). I was excited for the trip, the snow, and the times they must have had, but could not quite understand the need to tell me about it so vehemently.
That was until I saw the attachments in the email.
A quick phone call had to be made, as this was without a doubt, new territory for The Pink. Yes, it’s been found in foreign countries, and its best served cold, but this was groundbreaking stuff, storing it directly as mother nature intended.
Apparently the snow keeps it perfectly cool, and gives it a crisp, fresh flavor. My argument was that our Merlot Rose always has a crisp, fresh flavor, but you don’t always need to argue the point when the bottle was transported across the wide ocean that is the Pacific.
So really, there are very few excuses left why you shouldn’t take your Pink with you everywhere. In fact, I am putting up a case of The Pink 2010 (yet even unharvested) for the best The Pink photo sent to us directly, by release date (usually around June) 2010.
All photos are to be mailed to sales (at) kleinhoekkloof.co.za with the heading “The Pink” before 21 May 2010. It really is that easy.
Eloise can consider this the first entry.
Have a great week ahead.
